We have been informed that the current management of Soly has filed for bankruptcy of Soly Holding B.V. and Soly NL SSC B.V. with the District Court in Groningen. Yesterday, the court confirmed the bankruptcy.
We are deeply saddened and disappointed by this outcome. It is difficult for us to accept that loyal employees, partners, and other stakeholders are now facing uncertainty.
Although we were no longer operationally active within Soly, as founders and shareholders we have spent the past few days doing everything we could to find alternatives to this situation. These alternatives were also presented. In the end, a different decision was made by management and the other shareholders. Even in this new situation, we remain willing to actively explore possibilities for a (partial) restart.
We understand that this situation raises many emotions and questions. At the same time, it is important to allow the court-appointed trustee (curator) to carry out the process with calm and care.
More than twelve years ago, at a kitchen table in Leeuwarden, we began with the dream of making sustainable energy accessible to everyone. Today, Soly has installed hundreds of thousands of solar panels across seven countries. We would like to thank all current and former employees who have contributed to this remarkable company, and we sincerely hope that a restart remains possible.
